The Company:
Within the largest international collaboration in science ever established, the ITER machine was designed to demonstrate the feasibility for the massive production of fusion energy.
ITER is now well into the construction and industrial phase in Cadarache (France) where the installation will be erected. F4E (Fusion for Energy), our customer, is the domestic agency for ITER and provides, on behalf Europe , components for the project.

The Role:
The project team (based in Genova) is looking to reinforce the technical team on several functions.
For the fabrication of these large equipment , in complementary of what is under manufacturing in his own factories , have sub-contracted some activities to major recognized companies working on nuclear activities.

The mission is to technically support the Production and tests manager on the welding and NDE activity:
- welding and NDE overview and coordination between the Italian Partners and the major sub-contractors during qualification and production phases.
- ensure an unique position “on common “welding topics by coordinating the relevant departments of partners and major sub-contractors.
- coordination of the delivery pieces, material procurement and machining activities for welding qualification.
- coordination of the technical documentation issues (preparation, and customers’ approbation) linked to the welding and NDE processes including coordination in answer Customer comments.
- coordination of APAVE activities for qualification activities phase.
- coordination of the lessons learned transfer to the partners and sub-suppliers
- coordination of the resident inspectors’ activities in relationship with the Quality Control Manager.
- review the content of welding‘s documents in order to guarantee a reasonable e level of detail and a homogenous structure between consortium’s partners and major sub-suppliers.
- coordinate the experts (from every side) activities
- coordinate and contribute to welding improvement programs needed for the execution of the work
- deal with Notified body (Third party) for issues related to welding process.
- Coordination of the monitoring of the process to assure the required quality and production schedule (nuclear codes and standard respect ) in relationship with the production engineer 8and welding and NDE engineer )in each factory.
-in relationship to the planner and the production manager in each factory, in charge of the time schedule analysis on welding and NDE : identification of bottlenecks and recovery actions proposal
-treatment of technical pending actions in relationship with the Production and tests leader and the technical cell leader.
-anticipation of non-conformity treatment
-contribution to the technical risks analysis

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
-Mechanical engineer with minimum 10 years of experience on welding and NDE activities (Qualification on welding, UT , NDE, is a plus)
-technical knowledge in manufacturing, welding, non-destructive methods (knowledge of RCCM (MX) code and ESPN should also be a plus )
-capability on writing technical documentation
-capability to work in a team, responsibility attitude, autonomous and rigorous
-capability to manager activity (lessons learned) on several factories (WTO, MGR, ENSA, PROBEAM, TECHNATOM) with several experts
-questioning attitude, proactive, force for proposals. Very committed on the time schedule management
-available to frequently travel in Europe ( English speaking)
