International Oil & Gas operator with projects in North Africa.

The Role:
Fircroft are seeking a construction Supervisor for a rolling contract position in Algeria - this will be working on a compression project so applicants will have experience in this area

Provide day to day guidance to EPC contractors, companies logistics and safety specialist at site and provide oversight direction to, and integration of, field execution activities performed by the EPC contractor at the project site.

The Construction Supervisors will over see and provide assurance that construction activities relating to their specific area of discipline are being carried out in accordance with the Companies specifications and procedures and that the quality of work being performed by the EPC contractor meets these expectations.

In execution of this role the Construction Supervisors will be required to direct companies HSSE and Field QC Inspection to fully ensure all EPC construction activities are compliant with Companies QA/QC and HSSE requirements.

Monitor and report site progress to Companies Construction Manager and provide timely feedback on all HSSE, Quality and Schedule related issues

Responsibilities and Duties:


Reinforce on a daily basis Incident and Injury Free Safety Culture for all onsite and offsite based construction and fabrication activities. In conjunction with the EPC contractor and Companies HSSE Advisors promote and maintain a sustainable safety culture on the project so that safety is a natural part of all work performed.
Provide direction and support to the EPC Contractors on site related construction activities including quality and schedule related issues.
Ensure EPC Contractor performs construction work in accordance with Companies HSSE and Quality requirements.
Participate in risk reviews and tool box talks with EPC contractors work force and assist with the development of mitigation plans for all major areas of risk.
Over see all on site construction, companies inspection including subcontracts and off site construction as directed by the Companies Construction Manager.
Ensure that EPC construction plan does not adversely impact the day to day operations of the existing project process plant.

Project Execution.

Be fully conversant with the drawings, specifications and procedures relevant to the welding, insulation, surface protection and fireproofing disciplines of the project facilities.
Oversee prefabrication and on site welding / coating, construction activities and coordinate with EPC contractors including 0073ub contractors and vendors as necessary to meet schedule requirements.
Regularly assess individual welder performance.
Ensure that all field construction is executed in an integrated way in accordance with the project specifications, schedules, cost estimates, procedures, quality requirements and safety standards.
Continuously review proposed EPC contractors manpower levels and craft mix to ensure attainment of critical schedule milestones can be maintained in discipline areas.
Assure the effective and efficient management of the construction change control process both for the Companies and the EPC contractor construction activities, such that changes are correctly documented and approved prior to the work being implanted.
Oversee structural and piping construction (specifically welding) activities are fully compliant with companies specifications including NDE and NDE results.
Ensure that all Companies systems of Quality Assurance are adhered to and assist the project Quality Assurance function in the completion of site system test sheets and the test dossier.
Continuous over sight of EPC contractors materials storage facilities ensure materials consumables and equipment storage/preservation is in accordance with manufacturers and OEM recommendations.
Ensure EPC contractor operates and records a materials and equipment issuance system.
Ensure EPC contractor complies with the LTMS and operates an equipment testing and inspection regime prior to assigning to project site.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

HNC in related Engineering Discipline or City in Guilds Trade Qualification or minimum 15 years oil and gas construction experience.
CSWIP welding Inspector or equivalent qualification in Welding and NDE.
Valid UKOA Plus (or equivalent) medical certification.
Fluent English speaker, French advantageous.


Minimum 10 years experience as a Construction / Fabrication Supervisor within Oil and Gas sector.
Previous experience with CRA pipe work and installation including requirements for Ferrite testing essential.
Extensive experience of protective coatings, insulation and application of passive fire protection.
Minimum 5 years overseas experience in remote desert location working with a multi national work force essential.
Previous EPC experience representing the client.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Excellent pc skills.
Open-minded and good team-player.
