The Role:
Environmental Specialist (focus on Wells).

Job Description: Details of some of the areas that the person may get involved with (given the limited time in position) therefore a flexible and adaptable mind set is a key ingredient. Support will be available from the Wells Function teams, Environmental Discipline, other Environmental Specialists and Production Chemistry teams. The job scope includes; - Provide Environmental support to Wells projects, including managing permits and understanding legal requirements with respect to drilling, completion and well intervention activities is essential and producing deliverables in line with the Client requirements. Assist with preparation, review and approval of permits and consents, including regulatory communications. Drive compliance with the Client Wells functions. Analyse performance (KPIs, incidents, audit outcomes) and benchmark performance with a view to identifying improvements in addressing E component of Wells activities. Provide data and information for input to function BPRs. Plan, execute and deliver improvement plans. Participate in investigation and review of environmental incidents with the Wells Function as required. Liaise closely with other Function Personnel and Asset Environmental Specialists on 'E' related matters. Support/Facilitate lateral learning and sharing of good practice on environmental matters with Wells and within the wider UIE community as required. Functional Managers with the reporting, investigation and follow-up of non-conformances as required. Promote awareness of environmental management within Wells Function e.g. presentations, workshops, campaigns. Act as focal point for audits and reviews of Wells EMS, ISO14001 compliance etc. Conduct or participate in audits in line with Wells Assurance Plans. Efficient and effective integration of 'E' requirements into Opportunities in order to drive continuous improvement. Managing E input to a wide range of projects with varying scopes and timescales both offshore and onshore. To support finding appropriate solutions accepted by all stakeholders when there is tension between 'E' and other issues (e.g. cost, safety). Driving compliance with permits/legislation in Wells (identify and manage non-conformances). Driving compliance with environmental standards and procedures. Analysing and report on environmental performance for the Asset/Function/Project including environmental data monitoring/reporting & verification, environmental training records. Representing the Client to Regulators and Partners. Experience.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience supporting offshore UKCS oil and gas industry from an environmental management perspective. Knowledge of the PON and other regulator requirements is necessary.
