The Role:
Role Synopsis
The Wells ESP Advisor reports to the Wells ESP Manager and supports the Workover & Completions Manager and the Workover Engineering Manager. The role is responsible to ensure ESP engineering and rig based operations are safely and efficiently delivered, in line with international best practices. A strong working relationship with the Subsurface, Projects and Operations teams is essential.

Key Accountabilities
Key roles and responsibilities include:
o Demonstrate a strong commitment to HSE, lead by example and support the development and implementation of a robust safety culture.
o Ensure technical and operational integrity in compliance with in-country law, corporate policy, international standards and guidelines
o Support the development and implementation of performance management systems and ensure compliance
o Ensure QA/QC compliance and support auditing activities
o Advise on all aspects of ESP engineering, equipment and operations to ensure delivery of safe and environmentally sound results, on time and within budget
o Create and maintain ESP related procedures, checklists and other documentation
o Ensure supplier inventories are maintained at adequate levels to support the activity forecast
o Manage and coordinate the daily activities of the ESP Mentor and Field Team
o Develop the capabilities of local national staff through structured training and mentoring
o Lead DIFA activities
o Support the handover of ESPs from Wells to Projects and / or Operations
o Support contract tendering process for ESP and other related contracts (power systems, infrastructure etc.)

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
o Educated to at least vocational level in a relevant discipline
o Minimum of 15 years industry or related experience with at least 10 years in ESPs
o Detailed theoretical and practical knowledge of ESPs, VSDs and Power Systems is essential:
o Design and Sizing (Application)
o Program development (procedures, checklists etc.)
o Field service, commissioning and troubleshooting of downhole and surface equipment
o Workshop (DIFA, tear down, PDI, testing etc.)
o ESP packers and bypass systems
o Power feed through systems
o Experience with multiple ESP providers and/or Operators preferred
o Strong leadership skills, demonstrated by supervisory/managerial roles
o A proven ability to coach, train and mentor national staff to international standards
o International & multi-cultural working experience, preferably in the Middle East
o A flexible approach to working in a dynamic environment
