Our global leading client is seeking highly skilled, experienced & capable contract international employees to work on a large multinational complex oil & gas project.

The Role:
The Angola SPU Subsea operations team is seeking Offshore Wells Subsea Supervisors for the Offshore RIG operations team.

The Supervisor will report to the Wells RIG Subsea Lead in the onshore support team that will support the FPSO on both of the project Blocks and the new FPSO Drilling and Completions (D&C) installations and associated field developments.

The successful applicant will be based offshore on Client operated MODUs in Angola waters. These positions will be on a 28/28 day rotational basis. Occasional visits to onshore facilities or contractors sites in Angola may be required.

This position is associated with both Project Blocks covering Two FPSO developments in which the major capital spends will be the provision of large Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessels (FPSO) and associated Risers, Flowlines and Umbilicals linking to subsea equipment

Role

The primary role of the Offshore Subsea Supervisor is to support the Subsea portion of the offshore installation and XT Pre-commissioning activities.

Responsibilities

•Ensure all service partner Supervisors / Operators onboard the rig/vessel:
have completed Client Safety Induction and are participating in the Safety Management / Control of Work Systems (risk assessments, permit to work etc).
attend the morning and evening operational planning meetings, verify service partner Supervisors feedback/cascade relevant safety/Ops planning information to their respective teams.
are working safely at all times. Regularly reinforce Client expectations and encourage safety leadership at every level, verify Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) being worn etc.
are communicating with the offshore teams to ensure work is being planned / prioritized relative to look-ahead/Client’s Plans/priorities.
are discouraged from man-riding (when on RIG) – plan the workscope to minimize/eliminate man-riding all together. Ensure all hand-tools have been tied-off with lanyards.

Read and make sure drilling report is accurate for operations and any down time.
Liaise with onshore staff at Client on equipment refurbishment, new build and problems encountered offshore that need to be addressed. Submit punch-list to Client Subsea Support Engineer – regarding any faults/failures developed on any piece of Subsea Equipment/running tool during the completion.
Update onshore Team on operations and events.
Compose work instructions, any MOC and risk assessment documents, attend Rig Call meetings during the day.
Ensure applicable CIP’s to be raised, should improvement opportunities be recognized with the Subsea Equipment/running sequence. Encourage all service partner Supervisors / Operators to participate in offshore CIP initiative.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The ideal candidate would be experienced Offshore Wells Subsea Supervisors, with formal qualifications and specific experience in the subsea deepwater field, with the following,

Experience of Client side or a similar organisation.
Minimum Degree level qualified in an engineering discipline. Chartered Engineer preferred.
Well Control Certification
Many number of years diversified experience in oil and gas industry in the Wells Subsea equipment and operations field, with at least a certain number of years in a supervisory position.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
Experience of multicultural project teams
Specific experience in the roles and responsibilities outlined above.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
The role requires the successful candidate to have broad industry experience and possess knowledge of the design and operation of typical subsea equipment including trees, manifolds and connector systems, and the applicable subsea industry standards and practice. A thorough understanding of subsea materials, manufacturing methods, welding and quality processes is also required. Knowledge of BP standards and group practices is desirable.
