The Company:
Our Client is an international oil and gas company with operated production of about 650,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day in various offshore and onshore locations. They have ongoing exploration and production activities worldwide, and have over 50 years of experience turning marginal and challenging fields into commercial successes.

The Role:
The Wellsite Engineer (WSE) assists the Drilling Supervisor in the implementation of the drilling, workover, completion and testing programmes. The main responsibility is to ensure operational optimization and maximise offline concurrent operations. This is an offshore Angola rotating role with occasional onshore office rotations.

The Well Site Engineer (WSE) reports offshore to the Rig Supervisor concerning his rig site activities. For development, training and during periods of onshore (office) work he/she reports to the Drilling Engineering Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Optimise well operations, especially offline concurrent operations. Create work instructions for these as required.
• Perform duties delegated by the Drilling Supervisors.
• Capture and enter lessons learned and non-conformances (NCR) into Det@ail and the After Action Review documentation.
• Section by section updates of the technical information and operational summary updates needed for Final Well Reports.
• Perform Drilling Engineering analysis including torque and drag, hydraulics, hole cleaning, anti-collision management, well control and casing design at the wellsite.
• Offshore Cost tracking and contractor supervision.
• Take an active roll in casing and cementing operations.
• Assist office based Drilling Engineers as required.
• Participate in and document offshore operations risk assessments.
• When in office perform the duties of an office Drilling Engineer.
• Maintain drilling documentation and data offshore.
• Maintain flat time analysis offshore.
• Assist in the implementation of new technology.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Engineering.
• A combined total of three years of onshore and offshore Drilling Engineering experience and Deep Water drilling experience will be an asset.
• Proficient in Drilling Engineering principles and drilling software applications will be an asset.
• Strong analytical and technical skills.
• Good organizational skills to complete assignments with varying degrees of complexity.
• Excellent English, written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with the various stake holders that are located though out the world.
• Must be a team player.
• High quality standards and a sense of urgency is required.
