The Role:
Is accountable for ensuring safe and effective operation of onshore and offshore infrastructure. In addition, the position is accountable for ensuring compliance with the company Information Technology strategies, policies, and operating practices.

Primary Functions:

- Installing, configuring, and maintaining the operating system and hardware on Windows based servers.
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining the VMware Environment.
- Participating in ‘Follow the Sun’ support for global infrastructure servers and VMware.
- Developing and promoting standard operating procedures.
- Conducting audits of servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines
- Maintain good Patch Compliance procedures leveraging the Company internal Change Management system
- Delivery of Infrastructure Services to the E&P UK business unit
- Delivery of global and leveraged Infrastructure services, as required, to other regional business units
- Delivery of projects to meet business need and IT refresh activities.
- Using Company change management processes to prevent production disruptions and outages
- Using Remedy to effectively manage service tickets within SLA
- Ensure compliance with Company Information and Security Policies.
- Develop and promote standard operating procedures
- Engaging in continuous learning to stay abreast on new and emerging technologies

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Experience working with Windows server 2003-2012 Operating System with direct experience in diagnostics, troubleshooting and problem solving for hardware and software.
- Experience of Supporting VMware 4 and 5 environments.
- Experience of DNS, WINS
- Experience of Active Directory, Group Policy and DFS
- Setup, configuration, and problem diagnostics of server hardware including RAID, mirrored disks
- Strong team working skills.
- Effective planning and organisational skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Proactive approach with ability to work independently.
- Willing and able to perform tasks outside normal business hours and participate in on-call rota as appropriate.
- Customer service focused
- Ability to work effectively and add value as a team member
- Ability to work effectively across time zones and geographic locations
- Knowledge of VB scripting / Powershell
- Knowledge of unattended setup procedures
- Knowledge of remote support concepts and tools
