The Company:
Our client is a global leader in engineering and project management services across nuclear, natural resources, clean energy, water and the environmental sectors.

Having entered in to a joint venture with a local leader in Qatar, our client is now a prominent and growing company in the region offering maintenance, shutdown and workshop services, facilities engineering and international supply access for the petrochemical and oil and gas sectors.

The Role:
Purpose / Role
• To undertake the close-out of work packs and in particular, collation of lessons learned in conjunction with PM’s/PE’s.

Key aims and objectives
• To ensure the content of work packs are appropriate to the task and that all relevant procedures are identified and captured to carry out tasks safely.
• To ensure the review process is adequate and timely and secure necessary input to work packs from internal and external stakeholders.

Prime responsibilities and duties

1. Developing work packs for mechanical / structural / instruments / electrical / piping related TAR work instructions at the asset locations as assigned through work identification and prioritization processes.

2. Preparation of detailed scopes, work packs, materials list for the TAR work instructions.

3. Obtaining technical input from Discipline Engineers / TAs for the development of work instructions / packs, major/minor plant changes and major repairs.

4. Proactively engaging the Supply Chain, vendors and subcontractors to ensure work is scheduled accurately based on material and vendor availability dates.

5. Maintaining all assigned work instructions in the associated computer systems.

6. Preparation permits and Task Risk Assessments for all scopes.

7. Liaising with operations focal points to ensure execution methodology is understood and aligned with operating codes.

8. Production of job cards.

9. Production of method statements.

10. Production of weight control data sheets.

11. Ensure all aspects of the Statement of Requirement (SOR) and Scope of Work (SOW) are addressed within the work pack.
12. Provide technical input during design phase, with an emphasis on constructability of the design.

13. Identify increase or reduction in scope, raising the necessary support documentation within the Change Management process.

14. Generate the estimated construction man hours and costs for construction scopes, materials and equipment into Project CTRs.

Core competencies

• Degree in Engineering
• Proactive attitude.
• Proficiency in CMMS systems would be beneficial
• Excellent knowledge of work preparation and scheduling techniques
• Knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment in oil and gas industry
• Clear understanding of the principles of Work Preparation and Scheduling and the importance of adhering to standards and procedures.
• Previous TAR experience
• Knowledge of safety hazards, and appropriate precautions applicable to work assignments
• Skill in reading, interpreting and applying information from files, drawings, catalogues, reports and manuals.
