The Company:
Our Client is a major contractor providing consultancy, engineering and project management services to the world's energy, power and process industries. They are the leading Contracting Company to the Oil and Gas Industry in the UK.

The Role:
• To ensure that all the SGP Construction activities are conducted in compliance with the applicable SHE rules and safe operational working practices and with respect to site instructions and work permit activities in order to ascertain that the plant will be built as per drawings, specifications, procedures, costs and schedule.
• To play a primary role in the handover of the PTW system from Constructions to Operations
• Assist the CSR to ensure Compliance with Project Safety objectives throughout the life of the project.
• Ensure that in addition to quality and good engineering practice, planning and cost must be a permanent concern.
• Overall responsibility for issuing of permits, isolations and attached paperwork on a daily basis.
• Ensure that the permit database is updated
• Co-ordination and administration of the SSOW system ensuring correct procedures are adhered too.
• Support in any accident investigations/ HSE audits as required.
• Onsite training of all Personnel involved in the SGP site PTW system including refresher training, issuing of certificates to ensure correct adherence to PTW System.
• Administration of Lock Out Boxes & Keys system via isolation certificates and use of lock suites.
• Collect and review all work permits prior to the daily work permit meeting with the objective of ensuring the compliance with Company work permit procedures.
• Coordinate the daily work permit meeting, identify and eliminate conflicting issues with regards to permits raised and update the CSR and Management team.
• Participation in the daily and periodic audit of permits – Carrying out permit reviews as per procedural requirements. Maintaining archive records of completed permits and isolations for any future HSE audits.
• Maintain good relationships with Contractors, being flexible enough but also strict when necessary to achieve the objectives of the Project.
• Liaise with Other disciplines, Safety, Cost, Planning and Administration sections to improve effectiveness of the overall Team.
• Ensure smooth permit issuing session every morning taking into account operational priorities.
• Support the CSR on the SGP site ensuring that the Construction Contractor is fully conversant with all Company project work permit related standards and procedures.
• Supervise the following Site fabrication maintenance interfaces and ensure that Company / Project standards and procedures are fully aligned:
o Company & Construction Contractor
o Construction Contractor / Sub-contractors
• Support the CSR and other Discipline Superintendents on all aspects of work permit procedures and ensure that interfaces with other disciplines are managed effectively.
• Demonstrate personal commitment to the SHE Policy, Maintain awareness of and ensure compliance with all relevant Statutory and Company SHE standards, actively participate in Company safety awareness and initiative schemes.

• Rotation 3/3 schedule

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualifications Experience required
• Typically 10 to 15 years relevant project construction experience
• Previous gas plant construction experience, in particular in the role of Work Permit Coordinator
• Membership of an appropriate SHE professional body (e.g. IOSH) would be an advantage
• Recognized level of expertise in construction discipline with a good knowledge of TOTAL E&P general specifications.
• Good spoken and written English.
• Must hold full licence that permits driving in the UK
• Valid medical acceptable to Company standards

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
SHE training required
• Training plan will be developed with incumbent dependent on experience and role and will be based around the Company’s project requirements
