The Company:
Our Client is a large Automotive and Commercial Vehicle OEM, with a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering on a contract basis. These opportunities are typically based in their research and development facility located in Dunton which is the largest automotive technical centre in the United Kingdom.

The Role:
This position is within Diagnostic Service Products (DSP). The group deals with developing and maintaining diagnostics. The successful candidate will be responsible for authoring the diagnostic and test content for the workshop manual. Authors are required to use both standard Office and custom Ford software applications to author content comprising of descriptive text and supporting graphics. Content will need to be authored for both new programs and correction of existing content. They will be expected to work closely with the diagnostic feature owners globally and product development who will provide much of the technical content. Authors will be expected to manage their own time and priorities in order to meet timing objectives. They will be expected to report status during regular team meetings.
PART TIME This is a part time position. A minimum number of hours must be fulfiled, but working times and days are flexible and can be discussed and agreed with selected candidate prior to contract.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Fluent in English (written and spoken). Appreciation of the Global automotive environment and diversity of consumer needs. Experience in authoring customer-facing instructional information. Ability to appropriately prioritise tasks and deliver on objectives. Confident communicator able to work well in a team both at a local and global level but equally focused on own assignments.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience of working with content management systems and xml.
- Working knowledge of vehicles
- Client product knowledge. Odyssey. XMetaL. Teamcenter. (Training can be provided)
- Working with an electrical or Powertrain diagnostics environment
- Experience of authoring content for customers
