The Role:
Supervising All Shifts in the Assembly of Equipment
• Verifying that all build list/survey reports identify all components prior to assembly.
• Ensuring all applicable safety procedures and control measures are adhered to.
• Organising the assembly of products to verbal instruction or in accordance with drawings and specifications.

Supervising All Shifts in the Testing of Equipment
• Ensuring all applicable safety procedures and control measures are adhered to.
• Verifying test equipment to be used is within certification and free from damage.
• Ensure Workshop Personnel assemble and test equipment in accordance with relevant instructions.
• Ensuring adequate steps are taken to contain potential spillages.
• Ensure all test results are recorded and stored in an orderly and readable manner.

Mandatory Supervisory Duties
• Co-ordinate activities within the workshop ensuring all shifts pre-shift toolboxes are performed along with a detailed shift handover on completion of shift.
• Sign off timesheets on daily basis including the monitoring of overtime, absenteeism and timekeeping.
• Ensure that company documentation is correctly completed by workshop staff.
• Ensure personnel adhere to ALL company policies and procedures.
• Ensure personnel:
-are sufficiently supervised, competent, trained and are communicated the relevant QHSE information to carry out the instructed task safely with as low as reasonably practicable effects to health and minimum impact to the environment to complete the task which satisfies the quality requirements.
-dispose of waste using the correct waste streams and avoid energy waste.
-retrieve the required QHSE information from the HSE Manual and Quality Manual.
-maintain good housekeeping in the workplace and carry out the housekeeping checks.
-report all HSE incidents.

• Motivation of workshop personnel in a pro active manner
• Ensuring all workshop equipment is maintained to a high standard ensuring any issues are identified and acted on accordingly.
• Identify and reporting any nonconforming items.
• Checking work order package to ensure all relevant information is available prior to issue to Workshop Team
• Ensuring all surplus items are documented and returned to stores in a safe and orderly manner
• Maintain Manual Calibration Records of all workshop equipment and liaise with Workshop Administrator ensuring electronic database is kept up to date.
• Maintain Lifting Equipment Register for Both Stores and Workshop and liaise with Workshop Administrator when Inspection dates are due.
• Maintain Hose Register for Workshop, ensuring all hoses are tested and stored in accordance to manufacturers guidelines.
• Ensuring all Jobcards are on a weekly bases passed to Workshop Administrator for update on the system.
• Ensure all reviewed Competence Assessments are passed to Workshop Manager on a monthly basis
• Work in accordance with the information and training provided and not undertake any task for which authorisation and/or training has not been given.
• Take reasonable care to prevent harm to themselves and consider the potential for harm to others or the environment that may be caused by their acts or omissions.
• Report any hazardous defects in plant, equipment and workplace, or shortcomings in the existing controls, to a responsible person without delay.
• Refrain from intentionally misusing or recklessly interfering with anything that has been provided for Health, Safety and/or Environmental reasons.
• Dispose of waste using the correct waste streams and avoid energy waste.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Standard Grade English and Mathematics or equivalent
• Ability to understand Engineering Drawings
• Ability to Work under limited supervision
• Ability to conduct and review Risk Assessments
• Team Work
• Health, Safety and Environment knowledge, experience and trained to the level of IOSH Managing Safely and have Environment Awareness training
