We are delighted to announce we have partnered with University Technical College Warrington to encourage more young people to join the engineering industry.
We will be working with UTCW to offer practical support, advice and access to training opportunities to young people looking to pursue a career in engineering.
University Technology College Warrington (UTCW) is due to open in September 2015 and will specialise in energy, engineering and training for 14 – 19 year olds. The UTC is sponsored by the University of Chester and Warrington Borough Council along with local organisations including Sellafield Ltd, Tenet, Nuvia and AMEC.
The new College offers a unique environment for education, offering clear progression routes into higher education, apprenticeships or full time employment in engineering -related disciplines.
Tom Robinson, Business Manager, said: “One of the key challenges facing our industry is attracting young people into engineering. By working with UTCW we can help promote engineering as a discipline and career choice for young people across the region.
This is a great opportunity to capitalise on the growth opportunities in the nuclear and engineering sectors whilst ensuring that students are equipped with the skills and knowledge that local technical organisations are looking for.”
