The Fircroft Perth office hosted our first Australian HR themed networking event last week on 9th April 2015. The event was organised by Michaella Rogers, Country Director for Australia; Bianca Taylor, HR Business Partner; and Mark Pearce, Business Manager.
HR Managers from a selection of oil and gas and mining companies were invited to the event, which involved a unique wine-tasting experience. The event was organised in order to give female HR professionals the opportunity to network and share common challenges, goals and successes.
Members of the team from our Perth office had previously noticed that such an event had never previously been organised, and as a result they took the opportunity to roll the event out.
Mark Pearce commented, “The Australian economy is in a period of turbulence and we have noticed from speaking with our clients that the Natural Resources recruitment market is feeling the effects. Clients are repeatedly contacted by recruitment companies to discuss the same thing regarding assistance with their recruitment. This is clearly impracticable so we came up with the idea of organising a networking event where we could introduce like-minded professionals to each other and discuss their frustrations, challenges, goals and successes in the current market.
The feedback we have received from the event has been very positive and we anticipate that we’ll probably need a slightly bigger venue for our next meeting. Our aim is simple - we want our clients to keep us in the forefront of their minds.”
The teams in both Perth and Brisbane look forward to organising future themed events.
