I started my career in recruitment on the Fircroft Graduate Scheme. From there I completed a comprehensive 18-month long scheme which saw me rotate around the various departments within the business. During this time I also relocated to one of Fircroft's satellite offices in Teesside where I spent 7 months supporting the manpower provision of a Major Saudi Arabian based client. Since the Graduate Scheme I have progressed quite well through the business taking up a number of roles. In March 2015 I relocated to Fircorft Saudi Arabia on secondment fulfilling the role of Account Manager for Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province. Here I helped support the set-up of Fircroft’s Al-Khobar office whilst developing key business relationships with new and existing clients. I am now working within Fircroft’s Automotive team based in Warrington with the responsibility to develop and deliver against new business within the UK and Europe.
Before joining Fircroft, I was studying for a Masters Degree in Planning at the University of Liverpool. The course was over four years and touched on various topics (Architecture, Spatial Planning, Environmental Sustainability, Planning Law, Geographical Information Systems, Urban Regeneration etc.) Whilst I was at University I was employed as a Sales Manager within a family-run, Liverpool Based Jewellery Business. This was my first feel for employment. I finished my last day of work there on 17th November 2012 having completed over 7 years’ service before joining Fircroft on 19th November 2012. In between my time at the Jewellery business I have experienced working voluntarily as a Planning Officer for the Local Council and also as a Sales Advisor for a family run Waste Solutions company.
I spent 18 months working on the Sadara Project. This is a JV project between two major chemical companies; - Saudi Aramco, based in KSA and Dow Chemical Company based out of US. This $20 billion dollar project represented the largest of its kind to be carried out over a single phase whereby 26 plants were constructed. These plants produced a large variety of different chemically manufactured products, hydrocarbons, and high performance plastics to supply the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and surrounding Countries. During my time working on the project I was responsible for placing circa 40 personnel which generated around £150k profit for Fircroft.
I enjoy working with people from all walks of life and dealing with challenges that some would deem impossible. I like to put myself to the test and commit myself in everything I do. In the recruitment business there are lots of challenges and obstacles to overcome but if what I do can help make customers’ lives easier, by providing solutions to their toughest challenges then I’ll continue to do it whilst enjoying it at the same time. I'd have to say graduating from the University of Liverpool and obtaining my Masters Degree with Honours was a huge milestone in my life, although travelling to Saudi Arabia alone and helping set up one of Fircroft's offices is something I'm extremely proud of.
